Theory & HZP Training
To take the practical driving test, you must first pass the Theory and hazard Perception Test. All instructors from Kevin Breen School of Motoring will help and support you with your evision for this test.
Be aware that some other driving schools may try to delay you from taking the theory test early so to gain more profit from your driving lessons. Here at Kevin Breen we actively encourage you to pass this test as soon as possible, as the certificate you recieve will last for two years. Kevin breen instructors will get actively involved to help you pass the test as soon as possible.
The theory test is split into two parts, and you must pass both parts.
The theory test consists of 50 multiple choice answer questions. You have 57 minutes to complete the questions, and you need to get 43 or more out of 50 to pass this part. There are 14 areas to learn, below are some of these areas thet you will be questioned on
Hazard Perception Test
After the Theory Test there will be a few munites break, after which the next part of the test will begin, the Hazard Perception test. There is no time limit on this test. This test consists of 14 video clips of a vehicle driving down various types of roads in different traffic and weather conditions. 13 of these clips will have one actual hazard with 1 having two actual hazards. What you have to do is spot a situation along the road ahead that you think may develope into a full blown hazard by clicking your mouse. The timing of your click will depend on the what score you get. The earlier you see the developing hazard the higher the score, maximum being 5 minimun being 0. You will need to score at least 44 out of a possible 75 to pass.

Also for the Theory and Hazard Perception Test there are various CD-ROMS, DVD ROMS and down loadable software to practice on, these will give you an understanding on how the test is actually conducted when you go for your test at he theory test centre.
